Essence of Kundalini Yoga

The postures and movements in the many thousand of yoga sets, or kriyas, as they are know, are practiced so that they focus on specific ailments, needs or even chakras - strengthening and toning, in the process, different parts of the physical body effectively, quickly and with real results. These many different kriyas are designed to stimulate the nervous system and the lymphatic system, accelerating the body's ability to heal itself and detoxify, or magnifying ones's electromagnetic field/aura and uplifting the vibrational frequency of a person quickly, powerfully but safely according to the needs of the individual.

Through the practice of Kundalini Yoga, we stimulate and release the unused dormant kundalini energy at the base of our spine and allow it to rise up (It is never forced) the central column of the spine until it reaches the top of the skull, activating the secretion of the pineal gland. This brings about a major change of consciousness. When this energy returns down the right and left hemispheres of the brain and activates and balances the various energy centers, there is a major change in the person's life. Although there are cases of the kundalini rising spontaneously, without purposeful spiritual practice, your reservoir of kundalini energy remains dormant throughout your retire life. It is like having a racing car and never getting our of the first gear!

According to the Yoga Sutras, what you can achieve with 12 years of Hatha Yoga, plus 6 years of Raja Yoga, plus 3 Years of Mantra yoga, plus 1 year of Laya Yoga, can be accomplished in a single year of a perfectly practicing Kundalini Yoga.

You do not have to change in with the intention of raising the Kundalini to full enlightenment, although this is the goal of all forms of yoga. These is a more acceptable and gentle way of introducing you to the sheer potential that is within you and showing you how this potential can be released Every time you embark on a kundalini kriya, the general pattern of a kundalini kriya is to awaken and build up the pranic energy. This is then guided to the relevant area that you wish to work on, a kriya to help with decision making or an emotional state that is upsetting you might be helpful. By directing the energy to a particular chakra, organ or issue in your life, this blockage will be dissolved and once again you will be back in balance.
